CAN THIS MAMA WEAR CUTOFF JEANS?

This top was a random Target find. I went into a Target I normally do not frequent in another town to get wrapping paper and suntan lotion and although I did not plan to look at clothes, somehow my legs drug me over there. Funny how that happens in Target!!! I browsed quickly but in with the skirts was this top, I could not resist the tribal pattern and neon coral in it! However, I immediately knew I wanted to wear it with cut-off jeans, be super casual and have a laid back boho vibe.....until.....I presented the "Am I too old to wear cut-off jeans?" to my teenagers. After a resounding "Yes, you're Waaay too old" I took a cute pair back out of my online shopping cart and threw some white capris to go with...but I longed for cut-offs all vacation.

So, here's where I need you. Yes or No on the cut-offs or is there something that would look even better with this adorable top?

Look how cute the back is!!

Help, you rockin out bloggers......I need your fashionista assistance...

  3. I don't think there is such thing as being "too old" for anything when it comes to fashion. It's all about making the changes necessary to feel comfortable in the look you want to rock so that it compliments the changes in your body. And I have every idea if you hadn't asked your kids and wore the cut offs, they probably wouldn't have even noticed. :) Do you and rock those shorts! xx

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I think if you have the legs for it, go for it! They look good as beach wear, just make sure they aren't too short. The white capris look nice though!

  11. Love that top! The colors are so fun! And my mom still wears cutoffs and she looks great in them! My only recommendation would be to make sure they aren't too short, because then that looks very youthful. But if you've got the legs for them I say go for it!

    1. That was my thought too and I appreciate the advice. I'd be a Glamour "Don't" for sure if my butt checks were hanging out. Lol Hope the rest of your day is fantastic!!

  12. I'm not a huge fan of cut offs unless they are worn for really casual situations - like lounging around at home. And they should be on the longer side. Really short shorts on anyone are not attractive. I like how you styled that top with the white jeans! I think a pair of cuffed white jeans would look great too!

    2. I agree completely with Jessica. Cute top, Andrea! I would just wear regular jeans/shorts, or maybe even coral to match the tribal pattern. Brown could be cute, too.

  15. That top is so cute and I love your bright necklace!! I have to tell you that I deal with this issue at work all of the time. Moms worrying that they can't wear something. Which I get, I mean there are things that I don't wear anymore. Anyway...We are a store that is primarily focused on styling moms. We sell all kinds of shorts that are cute and not frump city. It is all about the length of the shorts and what you feel comfortable in. :-) I hope that this helps you a little bit and that you had a lovely day today!! :-)

    1. It does help! You always have the best advice Caroline!! I usually don't worry too much what others think of how I dress as I aspire to still be fashionable and tasteful. Why cut-offs were calling my name is a mystery. Lol. Next time I come to Chicago I want to come to your store!!! I bet your customers love you!! :-) Hoping your day was lovely as well and so much sunshine headed our way!!!! Whoo hoo. xo
