9 THINGS I WILL NEVER BLOG ABOUT

I respect all writers and I truly believe in free speech. However, for me personally, there are some things I will never write about on this blog. I bet you have things you choose to keep private as well. As bloggers, there should be a little mystery surrounding us.
What fun would it be if we knew everything!
Here are the things I choose not to blog about:

1. RELATIONSHIP ISSUES

I'm not just talking marriage. Relationships on the majority can be happy and thriving, but snags do arise from time to time. I'm talking friends, family, and for us, our teen's relationships too. We all have friends that have hurt us. If you haven't, consider yourself seriously blessed. However, it's not fair to throw that hurt on a blog. Our two oldest have had bad break-ups recently but I would never divulge as it's their business and our business, not the Internets. Teens have way to much info on the Internet anyway.

2. POLITICS

It's not that I don't have an opinion because trust me, I do. After all, I majored in government, sociology and psychology education but that was 20+ years ago so I would not say my opinion is educated these days.
And frankly I don't even want to hear the parties bashing one another.
Love and work TOGETHER people!

3. MY ACHES AND PAINS

Don't you just love Maxine?! Anyhow, there are so many people suffering in this world, even in our family, but that is something best kept off a light hearted, uplifting blog. While I may ask you to pray for someone or send them your thoughts, I certainly am not going to broadcast every little ache and pain I have personally. If you are hurting though, you can bet I will empathize, wish you a speedy recovery and even offer to make you some chicken soup.
For me, I will take an ibuprofen and a bath in the foaming bath wash below that you can buy at Wal-Mart and drugstores and get a good nights rest.

4. JIMMY CHOO AND VALENTINO

I refuse to add 3 Zeros to that 1, 2 or 3 when it comes to fashion and accessorizes. I mean they stopped making the thousand dollar bill
for a reason. LOL. You probably won't see said designers on here unless bequeathed an extravagance by my husband or Donald Trump!!
Now Michael (Kors), Tory (Burch), Coach, we can occasionally, sometimes frequently, chat (i.e. purchase with love) but throw on an extra zero and sorry, we're not really friends Valentino...
(but I'll ogle you from afar and then I'll go to Target!)

Now, I do love this purse and shoes, but I could buy 40 Target Satchels for one of those Valentino's!!

5. MY JOB

I have a job. I do. For this I am very thankful. It is not the job I intended nor do I love it to pieces. I never talk about my job because it is not exciting enough for a blog (I lie—it could take up an entire blog if I wanted it to—I think every job could) and also because I don't think it's appropriate to broadcast where I work on the Internet. No, I do not work for the FBI or the CIA, nor am I a Charlie's Angel (darn it). I work for a health system. There, I said it. If I don’t post for the next few days, know that I have most likely been imprisoned. But please also know that a lot of really funny & entertaining things happen at my job every day that I can’t talk about. Privacy and stuff, you know?

6, 7, 8  and 9 Certain SLANG Words

Tell me why my beloved Webster's Dictionary has been replaced by a what?
An Urban Dictionary!
It appears over the past couple years, people have shortened many adjectives with slang terms that, to me, are a tad too young sounding. Just my opinion. There are some words that do sound cute shortened like fav or vacay but these others just sound too schoolgirl for my blood. While I would love to be said "schoolgirl" again sometimes, I wouldn't use these terms, so you will not see me using the following on this blog or hear them coming out of my mouth.

Amazeballs (Amazing... I happen like the word "amazing" and it's not for describing any type of balls)
Totes (Totally....totes are an umbrella brand!)
Adorbs (Adorable, I like telling people they look "adorable")
Convo (it's a CONVERSATION)

Now go be adorbs and have a totes amazeballs convo with someone.
Now go be adorable and have a totally amazing conversation with someone!!!!!

Happy TUESDAY!
xoxo

  1. I'm not one to blog about my relationships, either. It's not what my blog focuses on, and I like to keep my private life private. I hear ya, girl! :)

  7. Haha Love this list. I think I'm with you on almost all of them. I work on a morning radio talk show, which is basically a reality show so I've had to put up strict boundaries on A LOT of parts of my life. I never blog about my relationship problems. I do talk about them sometimes on the air, but ONLY if he is ok with it, if the problem has been resolved, if it doesn't shed a negative light on him.

  12. I agree with you on all of these topics!!!! You wont see me talking about politics or relationship issues on my blog. I wont be sharing $1,200 shoes that I randomly bought one weekend and I refuse to say any of those words you listed out that fly around blog world. Sometimes I say "jelly" to be funny instead of jealous because of an episode of South Park that I saw. And also because my husband one day said "Feed her a jelly sandwich" when talking about someone who was acting jealous and it was hilarious!!! Haha!

  26. Just stumbled onto this post. I hate a lot of cute-sy shortened words. Ugh. "The fam" (family), "sesh" (session), "tradish" (tradition), "preggo"/"preggers" (pregnant"), and all the ones you listed. Also, "awesome sauce" and "lame sauce".
