FRIDAY FAVORITES....JULY 4th EDITION

It's here, it's really here, 4th of July and all it's splendor!! What do you have planned? Hopefully lots of fun, drink, food and fireworks!! Oh and stress free relaxation cause you've all earned it.
Be safe, be happy and celebrate America in style!!

Let's begin the festivities with some of my favorite 4th of July Goodies!

1. PATRIOTIC BEVERAGES
I think red, white and blue drinks are so so pretty. Here are several to get this Par-Tay started.

2. HOT DOG FUN FOR ALL
Kids and adults will love these Firecracker Dogs. Here is the simple recipe:
Ingredients and Prep
2 can refrigerated breadstick dough, 2 packages -16 hot dogs, 16 thick slices Colby cheese – Have the deli slice this for you in ¼ to 3/8” slices and 16 skewers
  1. First take your skewers and stick them all the way through your hot dogs leaving about an inch of the skewer exposed out of the top of each hot dog.
  2. Take a section of breadstick dough starting at the top of the hot dog carefully wrap it one time around and pinch it just a bit to secure it and continue wrapping it around the hot dog until you get to the bottom.
  3. Place the wrapped dogs on a non stick baking liner, parchment paper or spray your baking pan with a non stick coating spray.
  4. Bake according to the package directions for the breadstick dough. It took us about 20 minutes at 350.
  5. While the hot dogs are cooking cut out your cheese stars. The key to achieving success with this step is to have your grocers deli counter cut slices of Colby cheese that are 1/4″-3/8″ thick. Using a small star cookie cutter cut out your stars. Depending on how big or small your cookie cutters are will      determine how many stars you get out of each slice of cheese. We could only get one star out of each slice. Hint: we highly recommend using Colby because it’s softer and more playable than other cheeses like Cheddar. Hard cheeses want to crack and crumble when you insert the skewer into your stars. Probably any softer cheese would work well.
  6. After your dogs have cooled completely, carefully stick the skewer into the star. Hint: it isn’t necessary to stick the skewer all the way through to the top of the star.

3. PRETTY PATRIOTIC NAILS
I love these. I am not disciplined enough in nail art, but love these.

4. BANDANA TABLECLOTH
Even for a non sewing-machine sewer, this looks like something I can do!

5. TREATS, TREATS AND MORE TREATS
No 4th of July Celebration would be complete without sweet treats in red, white and blue hues!  Here are some of my yummy favorites.

All you need to do is make 3 batches of rice krispie treats adding red food coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture and one with blue and press each color layer in a 9x13 greased pan.

I know these strawberries are all over Pinterest but they should be as they are AWESOME!!
