LET'S TALK: ENTERTAINMENT

Let's Talk Entertainment with Andrea and Erika! Whether Netflix, prime time TV, the lounger movie theater, magazines, books, bloggers, concerts, music; we have a plethora of entertainment these days. Really anything at your fingertips and I happen to LOVE it all!!! I am a child of the 70's, teen of the 80's so you know how different we had it back in the day. As a kid, encyclopedias were my jam!! We had 2 tube TV's with 3 channels, 4 with PBS. No remote, had to get up to change it every.single.time!! Yet, we never complained. Drive in movie theater night and a brown bag of dads home popped popcorn was such a treat and music was on vinyl or 8 track. Things are different now, some say better, sometimes you feel not, but choices abound, that's for sure.

Before I get to some favs of mine and speaking of entertainment, Do head over to my Dear friend, Emily's Blog Simply A Rough Draft where she is interviewing a middle aged crazy woman today......me, lol
Sweet Emily

I told you about my top 3 favorite movies of all time HERE. I could literally make this post a mile long with all the entertaining type things we enjoy, but I won't bore you, instead I'll throw out some of my favorites in various categories. It's a mishmash for sure cause this category had my head spinning.

Books
Way too many books to choose from but one thing I will say, since two are away at college, I am reading much more than the past few years and loving it.
My Favorite Book of all time

Books Turned into Blockbusters
Confession: I LOVE YOUNG ADULT BOOKS, Series especially. After a son got me hooked a few years ago on Twillight, I had to read al the books and see all the movies, Here is the order of my favorites

1. Twilight

 2. The Hunger Games

3. The Maze Runner

4. Divergent...did not like this ending

TV
I LOVE TV, sometimes I feel like current shows are not as good as the ones I loved growing up but there are still plenty of goodies. My husband and I DVR so many shows it's almost full.

MY FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME:
PARENTHOOD
Oh Zeke, I miss you!!

Favorite NEW Show of the Season

The whole Fall line up is not out yet, but I think this will be my it show!! It's reminiscent of Parenthood

MUSIC
We love Music of all kinds and usually try to go to a concert every summer. This summer, it just never worked out with dates and venues but next summer, we'll give it a whirl
Some fav concerts of the past: Luke Brian, Barry Manilow (yes) and Cole Swindell

SONGS
I have so many favorite songs and I wrote a post about My Life as a Mixtape but it's hard to narrow down but here ate first few that popped in my head:

3-D-No
One year for Mr. Nine's birthday we saw a 3-D movie, nope not really 3-D movie fans. Just give me my blanket, candy and the comfy Lounger theater seats and entertain me Hollywood....AND CUT!!

  6. We watched This is Us last night and I loved it! I knew I would. Can you believe Chicago Fire doesn't come back on until next month? Ugh so rude! We watched med and pd yesterday though. They are coming out with Chicago Law in January!!! YAY! I remember having to get up to turn the station when I was younger on TVs. Crazy how far technology has come!

  7. Ditto, ditto, ditto on so much of this post! I had to laugh the minute I read about encyclopedias, no remotes, and record albums. Those were the days! And the Kenny Chesney video - so funny to see him so young and WITH hair! I also love YA books, although I haven't read a good series in awhile. Loved This is Us, and think it will be a new series for the hubby and I to watch together. And no way on 3d movies...they give me a major headache. Have a marvelous Monday, and thanks for such "entertaining" lists.

  10. Fun to see your favorites! I love the Twilight (and Harry Potter) books and movies too. My husband and I watched Parenthood, but it was too emotional for me to binge watch like he wanted. I had to quit. Ha!

  12. Night was such a great book and so heartbreaking. Ok, I totally loved the Twilight books, the movies not so much but I do really love the very first movie. I just watched This is Us the other day, loved it. What a great story. I was not expecting to cry so much nor was I expecting that ending. So looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season plays out.

  21. Love your list! This Is Us is amazing! By everyone's accounts, it seems to be the closest replacement to Parenthood. I really miss the family dynamic of that sweet Braverman family. I wanted to be an honorary member! The Goldbergs are a great show too! I also, dislike 3-D Movies! Thanks for sharing!
