Confession, I do not like grape jam or jelly. I do not like PB&J sandwiches like my husband and boys do. I love grapes, grape juice, etc but way! Until I bit into a oatmeal bar from a friend and said "what is this?" Her response: "Grape Jam Bars!" Hello, a new holiday cookie recipe in my Christmas plate repertoire was born!! That day she gave me a plate of 5 different treats and this one blew me and our whole family away!!! Delicious, moist and such a pretty little bar!! Take it from me, even if you don't like grape jam, I bet you'll love these!!

They are such an easy bar to make.
They cut so nice with some firmness, but you bite in and they are soft and sweet.
Perfect Sweet Treat Gifts or to add to your cookie plates!!
I'm going to cut them into tiny bite sized squares for my plates and call them "Jam Bites!"

What you'll need

Grape Jam Oatmeal Bars
1 3/4 sticks salted butter, cut into pieces
1 1/2 cups Flour
1 1/2 cups Oatmeal
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
1 (10-12 oz) jar grape jam, or about a cup and a half

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter a 9-by-13-inch rectangular pan.
Mix together the butter, flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, salt & vanilla. Press half the oat mixture into the prepared pan. Spread with the grape jam. Sprinkle the other half of the oat mixture over the top and pat lightly. Bake until light brown, 30 to 40 minutes. Let cool completely, and then cut into squares.

They cut up into the perfect little bars to put in your tins too!
