I'M SO OVER...2

I've done a post like this before as we all have things we worry about. Trust me, with kids in college, one in HS, their numerous activities, apprehensions and homework pressures, not to mention, my own, worrying is a BIG part of my life! However, like I've said before, I know that I need to let go and let GOD!! Why worry, when he has a plan for me, right? Well, that is easier said than done and there will be days where I will be a worry wart! However, I have decided to let a lot of things go and to simply be Sooo over some of them.
Try it, because let me tell ya, whether the issue or dislike is serious or trivial, letting it go is so very FREEING!!!

1. Hollywood.
And Their ridiculous political rants. Seriously, you're actors and actresses getting paid HUGE bucks to entertain, you're not heroes, not keeping our country safe. Go back to the studio and shush!! Matthew McConaughey was recently interviewed and asked if it's time for the Hollywood elite to accept the Presidency. His response was this:
“Well, they don’t have a choice now. He’s our President. And, it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an Inauguration and time as we’ve had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace and shake hands with this fact. And be constructive with him over the next four years. So anyone, even those who may strongly disagree with his principles or things he’s said and done — and that’s another thing, we’ll see what he does compares to what he has said — no matter how much you even disagreed along the way, it’s time to think about how constructive can you be.”
Alright, Alright, Alright, Agree or Disagree, just get along and deal.

I'm not getting over how pretty he is!

2. Dreary Weather.
I think Mother Nature is mad at us for all the unrest in the world and is punishing us with grey skies. It's been the dreariest Winter, not the worst winter, not the coldest winter, not the snowiest winter....just so darn DREARY!! Enough already. I know you're up there sun! Doing a sun dance daily!!

3. People Who Still Don't Get Blogging.
Do you ever get asked why you Blog? I know I do, and my answer is always, "For the fun of it, it's my hobby, my online diary of sorts." Most people think that is great! Some will ask: How much time does it take? To which I reply "Oh, about 30 hours a week or more." Then, I get the look as if some people think I'm nuts, especially since I work too. It's my hobby people. I don't ask you why you spend 30 hours on social media?? Think about that one.

4. Snacks that Taste like Cardboard.
I'm a snacker, but I do not want the high calorie stuff (well I do but not gonna do it). Anyway, sometimes I get sick of fruit, veggies, hummus and nut butters and just want something of convenience. Enter a recent Special K purchase: Protein Bites. They are so bland, I had to throw them out. Ugh. I'll stick with a string cheese.

YUCK

5. Crappy Customer Service.
Ok check out girl at Target, can you pull your eyes off Instagram for one second? And don't you even sigh cause I will sling so many coupons at you, your head will spin. You are not getting paid to file your 5 inch nails; show some respect. And look me in the eye when I say Thank you. I take the customer satisfaction surveys ya know. Oh and don't get me started on customer service over the phone. Held on the line for 90 minutes, finally rings to a person, only to have my call dropped, whaaaaat? Ugh.

6. People that go into or work in the medical field who are not personable or compassionate.
I get the importance of the book smarts, an absolute must. However, I think the other must is a compassionate, nurturing heart. Rude, blunt, sarcastic, cold care just doesn't cut it for hurting patients.

7. People who Don't Leave a Tip
Understandable if the service was horrific as I referenced how horrible customer service can be. However, even if the server was poor or mediocre, you should still give them some kind of tip. I was only a waitress in college for a split second but I know how the tips are the livelihood. My husband is so good at this and it saddens me when I hear a conversation with someone laughing about not giving a tip. Shame on you!

So True

And something to remember this fine Monday:
Never Ruin a Good Day by Thinking About a Bad Yesterday! Let it Go!

LOL !!! Andrea this is all so true - completely over Hollywoods political rants too, and TOTALLY get asked why I blog and if anyone reads my blog. To this I answer I blog as a way to keep a journal mainly for myself but if other people want to read it great :) It's my little hobby too.
Happy Monday to you my friend !! XOXO

  4. I too am over this weather - ours isn't so much dreary as it's just COLD!! ahhh! No thank you to food that tasted like cardboard either LOL! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  5. I agree with so many of these! I am so over Hollywood that I refused to watch the Grammys this year even though I watch them every year. It's sad that they have no idea what it's like to be an average American. And people who don't tip waiters are rude people! Regardless of the service, people should tip the minimum, but if that person is a great waiter, I always tip more! Have a great Monday!

  8. Hahahaha yes to all of this!! I'm so over those Hollywood actors, so annoying! And don't even get me started on crappy customer service, grrrr!! LOL. Have a great Monday!

  9. Thank you for being real!! Love this post. Politics...you're killing me slowly and I'm so over it too. I have learned to "report" to a supervisor good customer service because it is so rare.

  11. Preach it sister!! These are all so true and thoughts I have often... Hollywood needs a reality check and get over themselves! It's exhausting!! I know in the only one who wants just one snow day but this weather is pretty great too lol - I laugh at the ones that don't get the whole blogging world! It's the best community and I love it! Happy Monday!

  12. YES! Yes to all of these especially Hollywood. And dreary weather...I am over winter and ready for some sun. I am over the snow and rain and now mud everywhere. Have a wonderful day my friend, I LOVED this post!

  13. LOL snacks that taste like cardboard! Totally agree with that one and crappy customer service! I feel like that has become so important to me lately especially as we've made big home/furniture purchases! Loved this post!

  14. Ha! What a smart post for a Monday! :) These made me laugh, and I agree with all of them. Especially the celebrity soapbox that they all seem to be on right now. Do we need to hear about it at every award show?! It's annoying and I'm over it. OK, rant done. Have a great week, beautiful girl!

  15. I am so over Hollywood as well! And people that don't tip...don't even get me started!! Such a big pet peeve.

  16. Yes to better customer service. It's like the standard now for everywhere to have bad service! I especially hate it at restaurants. And as someone entering the medical field (going to school to be a dentist), unfortunately there are too many people in it for just the money. And then they end up being miserable/aren't good with people and the patients suffer. It should be a requirement that you pass some kind of compassionate personality test

  17. #3 gets me every time. People spend an unbelievable amount of time on social media and the internet each week, so it's irritating when people judge because we blog. At least our time spent online is something productive and we're doing it because we love it. Sometimes it's good to get it all out, so we can let it go and move forward in a positive direction. :)

  18. haha! What a great post, Andrea. I'm over the Hollywood rants too, I could really care less about what they all think! Plus, I feel like I hear it everyday being in the DC bubble and I'm sick of it!! Glad to know I'm not the only one. Love this post for a Monday! Have a great start to the week!

  19. Oh, girl! You talked me out of a post that I wrote last week and was debating on publishing. I was cranky and hurt and very irritable when I wrote and although I tend to let my true feelings "shine" on my blog, I'm just gonna let it go! It's a new week - and hopefully a MUCH better one! My man! My Mister McC!! He can alright, alright, alright me all day long! I was scrolling through FB this morning and saw where Meryl Streep used her platform again to take a swipe at the Prez. I have lost all respect for her now. Hollywood needs to shut it and give the man a chance. So far, he's done what he said he was going to do during his campaign and that should say alot for the people who don't keep promises. Ok. I'm done! Hope you're feeling better, Love! Muah!

  20. Aww! This is so true! Celebs and their political rants and I also cannot stand it when people TO THIS DAY still do not understand blogging! It's the funniest thing but I've learned to not let it bother me! Life's too short! I adore you, Andrea!
    Happy Monday, babe!

  21. I agree with so many of these! And especially to docs with no personal skills or compassion AND to cardboard snacks. Aint nobody got time for that nonsense!

    ReplyDelete
  22. People that have no compassion should NEVER work in medical fields!!!
There are WAYYYY too many 'snacks' that aren't worth even looking at because of the cardboard tasting factor. Ewww...
Oh lady - yes to the Hollywood thing. I'm always like, "Who died & made you all the opinion for all?" I just cringe when I think that this country pays them millions for acting & that must give them the voice of the world?... I get everyone has an opinion & can voice it = but things are stepping over lines... in so many ways lately. sigh... pass the wine please.

  23. LOL these always crack me up! I agree on all front. Bummer about those protein bites. I had been wanting to try them!

  24. I don't understand people who check Facebook/Instagram multiple times an hour, but they think blogging is weird. I would go to Target's website and complain about cashiers like that one. I have complained before and I got a fast response.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't know when this country decided that being "famous" made someone more important. It drives me crazy to hear stars preaching about global warming and the environment, then getting into their private jets! Hope you have a great week, friend!

    ReplyDelete
  26. The weather, uggghhhh! I would even prefer cold and snowy to this grey drizzle it's been doing. Can a girl get a snow day?!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Preach girl! So over a lot of things these days. Sense of self entitlement being one of the biggest!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Haha, I'm still really shy about sharing the fact that I blog with people who I know personally because I'm afraid they're not going to understand it and just think I'm weird. For some reason, it seems like "blogging" has such a negative connotation and I have no idea why. I swear sometimes when I tell people I know that I have a blog they look at me like I have three heads!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm so over the Hollywood stuff too! I don't understand why they can't just try to be supportive of everything instead of trying to further divide our country up, it makes zero sense! I actually have never gotten the question of why I blog, but I think that people are always surprised by how long it takes to actually blog. It really is a huge time commitment that you won't make if you don't love it. I hope that you're having a great Monday, and that hopefully the venting helped!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I can relate to a lot of these...except the snacks, I'm sorry you didn't like them. The bars are really good!
I often get asked if I get paid to blog...and why I spend so much time doing it. Why do people care so much? Haha! I don't question people for their hobbies or likes/dislikes.
    So annoying!

  31. Yes, yes, yes!!! Customer service always gets me, or even just other customers that have no common courtesy - take up the whole aisle, invade personal space...the list could go on!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes!!! It's been so dreary here it makes me sad. I just want to see the sunnnnn. I think the younger generation work habits have seriously slacked for the most part. It's awful. Here's to a good week and hopefully some sunshine soon!

    ReplyDelete
  33. YES!!!! To so many of these!! Love this...perfect for a Monday!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes mam you are right on here! I am thankful I am not much of a facebooker any longer because based on how it's tanked some of my friends it's not worth my time. I consider bad service by a waitress a management issue...almost always if you find great mgmt you will find pleasant servers but I never stiff the waitress. But target...girl I was there this past week and the girl seriously was talking to the mgr on duty two registers over about when her break was going to be and when that would mean she would take her lunch instead of just processing my transaction...I was so irritated.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes to all of these things!!!! I am so sick of the political rants everywhere, but especially from Hollywood people. They don't live in the real world anyways, you know? And I bought some brownie bite Lara things that taste just awful! Cardboard would be an upgrade to them! LOL. I am just going to cowrite all this with you, ok?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yes, yes and yes...agree with all of these. And I LOVE what Matthew McC. said about Hollywood. Leave it to a Texan to tell it like it is. I watched the Grammy's last night and was actually pleasantly surprised that it was more about the entertainment than politics. Refreshing!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Yes yes yes, love this list and perfect for a Monday. I don't get people who are difficult just to be difficult and over them too!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't even know where to begin! You are right on so many fronts. I think we were separated at birth. Yes, definitely. Except I'm about 5 years older, lol! Love you!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. YES with people in the medical field, drives me crazy, like be NICE for Pete's sakes!!! Usually no one wants to be seeing the doc or nurse or whatever, no need to make it worse.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Crappy customer service is the worst and I'm often too vocal letting them know they are terrible and want to speak to a manager..meanwhile my husband cringes overhearing the conversation. LOL @ "snacks that taste like cardboard" but good to know so I won't bother trying the protein bites. Sometimes a good rant is freeing as you said, whether your husband has to hear it or you decide to let it out on the blog with our super powers!! But otherwise we know you are such a sweet and genuine person so no harm no foul. Hope some of your worries and stress have faded this week so you can enjoy and feel peace! xoxoxo

  41. I wish we could just have a couple politics free days. I know it's important, but I think we could all use a couple of mental health days!! And ugh! on the customer service problems and double ugh! on non-tippers. Don't people know servers only make like $2 an hour otherwise. And as far as the blogging stuff, to be honest there are occasionally days I wonder why we spend so much time on it too... but then there are days I love it! Luckily the days I love it outnumber the others ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just when I thought I couldn't love Matthew McConaughey any more...sigh. Bad customer service, ugh, that is so so annoying. I feel like some people just don't know how to interact with real live humans any more, they text each other when sitting right next to each other. I always find it so sad when there are 4 people at a table eating and they all have their phones out, like really people? Okay rant over. And yay for blogging :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. What a fun , cool post. Agree with Matthew! And oh yes to the blogging and customer service complaints!!

  44. I am over Hollywood, I mean.... I am over BEYONCE!! SO sick of her making a huge deal out of her babies. She acts as though it's some kind of HUGE thing she has done, to get pregnant with twins. Sorry, but tons of other women carry twins and don't have to beg for such adjulation. ugh. On the political side of your post, everyone has a right to speak out just like Mathew M did. He's just one side of the coin, and every citizen has the right to say what is on their mind. I don't agree with Matthew M, but I certainly did not tell him to shut up for expressing how he feels. Right to free speech is a very large part of what our country means. We all have the power to turn off our tv's and computers if we are sick of something and go read a book, pop in a video, go for a walk, not read blogs. I am not trying to rant here, just using my free speech. As for poor customer service....blame poor training and Management who have no management skills.

  45. Two gifts here: a smile and your wisdom. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yup, over the Hollywood people. Why do they think their opinion matters? Because they made a crappy movie? I will say we do not have a problem with any of our medical folks we deal with at Indiana University Hospitals and professional centers. I swear, I think they fire people who are rude. Hey, 50 degrees here today...keep smilin', darlin'! xoxo

  47. Girl, you took the words right outta my mouth! I'm tired of every actor and musician acting like they're well versed in politics all of the sudden. Like, get outta here with that. Thank God for Matthew. <3

I'm ready for Spring. Actually I'm ready for Summer.

People who go into the medical field or education that aren't truly passionate about it are doing us all a disservice. Including themselves.

I'm with you on this list!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh man, number 6 is such a big one. I mean, I get that those doctors and nurses and techs see some really hard things that make some patients' concerns seem really petty and small. But that "small concern" can be HUGE to that patient. A friend of mine is going through this right now and I keep trying to convince her to switch to my doctor (who is just a total sweetheart), but she keeps toughing it out with her doctor & nursing staff that aren't the kindest. So yeah, that one has been bothering me lately on her behalf!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I concur with all of the above, especially the Hollywood one. It has so turned me off that I spend even more time blogging and talking to My online friends that I never go to the movies anymore and I am thinking about canceling cable tv!

  51. Oh my God Andrea, I can't tell you how much I love this post! I laughed out loud a few times reading it. I am so with you on everything, especially the not compassionate people going into he medical field. My dad has been sick recently and I can not believe the atrocious bedside manner of some of his doctors. Awful!

I am already over the midterm elections in 18 months and the next presidential election, ha ha!

Thanks for partying with us this week on #FridayFrivolity.

  53. I keep ranting that NO ONE does their job any more. Maybe I will turn that thought into my first TBB Monday Consciousness post. Everyone I know is still crying over the election and we are well into the second month of Trump's presidency. Time to get over it and get on with life. I sure appreciate this post.

  54. I am so with you on the Hollywood thing! Why do they think all of America cares about their political opinions? Ugh! Bad customer service drives me nuts too. The other day the checkout kid at the grocery store was texting and I was just waiting and waiting for my receipt - he seemed annoyed that I actually wanted him to hand it to me!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yes to pretty much all of this! Doctors with poor bedside manner are just terrible. It makes you not want to go in and see them, you know? At least we've had some spring-like days here on the east coast lately. Let's hope the dreary weather doesn't return!
