EMBRACE YOUR QUIRKS

A Quirk is described as a peculiar behavioral habit; an idiosyncrasy.
I bet you've got some quirks and may not even know it. Or if you do, don't be ashamed, it's what makes you YOU!!!
Now, of course some of these, you may go #Weirdo but to me, it's my normalcy.

SHARING MY QUIRKS
~When I'm upset with my husband, which is rare, I sneeze. So now, whenever I sneeze, he asks, "Are you mad at me?" Most of the time it is a regular sneeze but within a few minutes of being upset with him, the sneezes start.

~The clock on my side of the bed must be set 30 minutes ahead and the clock in my car 3 minutes ahead.

~I have to be in the right side of an escalator holding onto the rail with my right hand.

~I only drink milk with chocolate, a chocolaty dessert or on cereal.

~Speaking of cereal, When I eat Frosted Mini Wheats, all the frosted sides must be facing down so that when I scoop it up on my spoon, the frosted side is on my tongue.

~I have a blankie that I am obsessed with. The girls that work for me got it a few Christmas's back, I HAVE to have it under me or over me whenever I am on our living room furniture. No other blanket will do and I have a back up just like it...in case.

~I write my grocery lists on business sized envelopes laid out by the store layout

~I do my crosswords in pen.

~If I have to pay a toll, which is rare now with EZpass, I must have the exact change and have it ready 2 miles before the exit.

~Every time I'm around someone with a very distinct accent from a foreign country, I want to start talking like that.

~I have an obsession with symmetry

~Despite loving country music, I change the station/song everytime Florida Georgia Line comes on.

What are your QUIRKS???

I'll see ya tomorrow for Tasty Tuesday and a salad recipe!!
Enjoy your day my quirky peeps!!

Praying for Florida's and the South's recovery
and 9-11...NEVER FORGET!!!

  2. Such a cute post! I loved reading it! I always have to have my husband walk on my right side and sit to the right of me. I also like to sit on the right side of an airplane! Happy Monday!

  3. This was such a fun post, Andrea! I totally agree that it's important to embrace your quirks. Loved reading yours, we have so many that are similar! I also have a blanket that I must use. It is leopard and heated and my very favorite. Although, Ella sometimes likes to take it during the winter haha! Happy Monday!

  5. Andrea, I love this post! Years back when I was a high school swim coach, I always told the kids "embrace your weird"! Every year they made a video recapping the season and each senior would say the most important lesson they learned from their coaches that they would carry through life. I was so proud when one girl stated that she would always remember that I told her to embrace her weird! I loved it. It is so true. It is what makes us unique and fabulous! By the way, I also do my crossword puzzles in pen, pencil never writes smoothly on that weird paper that they use in crossword books. I hate even numbers, so the volume on the television always has to be set at an odd number. And escalators completely freak me out. It takes me about 30 seconds of hesitation and planning and timing before I can even step onto one. It is quite the scene. In fact, I generally avoid escalators if I can!

    Thanks for sharing your quirks!

  6. Bahahaha I used to change it every time FL Ga Line came on too but now I actually listen to them bahahahahaha! I get the right side thing on the escalator. I can only do elevators where I can see out or one (just one) at our local Belk's. My claustrophobia is the pits. I have to vacuum my house every day or I go nuts. Yep, I'm a little wacko too! xoxoxo

  7. I always have to hold the railing on escalators - those things always make me nervous! How funny that you sneeze when you are upset with your husband! That's a way to let him know. ;) Such a fun post!

  13. Omg this made me laugh so much! Especially the sneezing when you're mad at the hubby! I feel like everyone is quirky with frosted mini wheats. I assess which one has the most frosting and I save it for the very last!!

  15. Ha! This list is so fun! I love that you sneeze when you're mad at the hubby...like, how does that even happen each time? Two of mine are that I have to clean a room from the left side first, all the way to the right side, and whenever I'm eating in the car, I have to change the station to talk radio. Who gets it?? Have a great week, love!

  25. I love these :)
I love the clock game we play with ourselves. I set clocks ahead too, but am always doing the math to know what time it really is - which defeats the point ;)
I had a blanket that I had to have always & it finally went to shreds -I've yet to find a replacement. SIGH

  26. OMG, that is too funny that you sneeze when upset at your husband. I clean...hahaha! Like deep clean. He's gotten the point and makes sure to stay away for at least an hour or two. LOL! So funny how everyone has their own little quirks.

  27. Oh my gosh, I love your quirks! I'm very similar in regards to timing! Both cars have to be set 5 mins ahead, or I get very anxious. I also need my toothbrush to be on the right holder, or I lose my mind. Silly self!

  28. I'm not a Florida Georgia Line fan either, and I always change the station when they come on! And yes to laying out the grocery list based on how you'll get things in the store! A new grocery store opened near our house so we go to that one now, and it took me forever to figure out how to get my list just right to go with that store!

  29. Love this so much!!! I would be a sneezing machine if I did that every time I was mad at my husband lol - I love frosted mini wheats OMG! ;)

  30. Well that's an interesting post. I've not stopped to think of mine, maybe I should, I could discover a lot about myself, just like I've found out so much about Mrs N today. Now, I would LOVE to hear you talking like me!! What's your British accent like?!!! X.

  33. Bwahaha! The sneezing with Mr. Nine totally cracked me up!! I have to have the frosted side of mini wheats on my tongue, too! So I won't gag at feeding like I'm eating grass!! Loved your quirks, Mama, and it was just too darn late to text you after the Notre Dame game Saturday night!! Goodness what a game!!

  34. I love your quirks. The sneezing one is my favorite and now that you mention it, I need to be on the right side od the escalator too!

  35. I love this post! I lay out my grocery store list by store layout as well. I usually make the list on scratch paper then organize it by layout and put it in my planner. I also do my crosswords in pen! I need to sit down and think about my other ones too, I am so habit oriented!

  41. I only drink milk when it is chocolate or in cereal too!!! Or use it for dipping in cookies :) And I have to be on the right side of the escalator as well! Also, my bedside clock is about 22 or 24 minutes ahead. It cant be an even number so that the math is harder to do when I am tired and I just get up. LOL. And my car clock is just a few minutes fast as well, but not too much so that I am not too early.

Lets see...a few of my quirks...I have to check the alarms I set on my phone at least 5 times before I can lay down to sleep. And I set at least three alarms, 15 minutes apart. Just in case I turn one off accidentally. I have them set to were I may miss my work out but still have plenty of time to get ready. I also have to check that my straightener is unplugged at least twice before leaving the house. The sheets on my bed have to have a tag in one particular corner at all times. The Keurig machine can never be blinking due to low water. I am going to stop now before you think I am crazy.

  42. I have all my clocks set ahead - and I do crosswords in pen! My biggest quirk is that I type everything in my head - and I even annoy myself with it sometimes!

I totally get your quirks. Since retiring I work part time in my brother's restaurant. The other day there were 3 ladles of the same color and one different for the salad dressings, it drove me crazy! One of my particular things is my towel and washcloth have to match. I mean what is the point of buying matching ones if you aren't going to use them together, right?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Some of these are quite funny but I can totally relate to being around people with accents and not talking that way yourself. I struggle with that! I also write out my grocery list by store layout and get so frustrated when the store reorganizes and my list doesn't line up! Though I could never fit my list on one envelope. I'm happy if i can fit our whole list on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of computer paper!

    ReplyDelete
  45. My quirks are not nearly as cute or interesting as yours!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Our quirks are what make us interesting and unique. I'm with you on the escalator ride...my feet have to be lined up too...ha! The hem on the towel has to be turned in when hanging it up. When I fold a towel to put in the hand towel ring, the fold has to face the door. When I put eggs from the girls in the carton, I alternate the brown and white eggs...hey, it's prettier that way. The older I get, the quirkier I become. Cute post...now you have all of us thinking. xoxo

  47. Cute and quirky? I think it's been much easier to accept my quirks as I've gotten older...and to laugh at them when my family points them out. My Mamaw always wrote her grocery lists on envelopes too! I had never seen anyone else do that but I think she always did it so she could put her coupons inside the envelope.

  48. Your quirks are precious like you my friend! I have tons of quirks. Lately I've been watching so much Netflix and all the series I've been binge watching take place in England, so I'm developing an English accent and saying things like "rubbish"! Seriously, who am I? My other quirk is with toilet paper. It must roll from the top front (does that make sense?) if it doesn't I'll change it no matter where I am because I'm sure once you've tried it my way you'll never go back. That's crazy!
