LOVE IS IN THE AIR.....VALENTINE DECOR

After I took the Christmas decorations down, the house just looked so drab and after all the inspirational mantle decorations I saw on Pinterest, I decided to go back to my old ways of decorating a little more with the various holidays. When the kids were younger I seem to do more of the seasonal Decor but kind of got away from that for holidays besides Christmas and Fall decorating. I was never one that decorated for Valentines much but I had gotten this adorable burlap banner for 90% off at Pier One last year. It was literally only two dollars so I worked around that. When seasonal decor goes on sale at Pier One, it goes 50 % off, then 75% then finally 90% fairly quickly. They still have great stuff left even at 90% off.

The XO Blocks, Metal double Love and White Pineapple are all from Hobby Lobby. In case your looking, just got them last Friday.

Mr. Nine and I feel that every day is Valentine's Day and there should never be one single day to show more love than another. We don't go all out by any means for Valentine's Day but may have a small dinner out, you know us, it'll be one of those early bird sushi specials or A brewery in the mid afternoon.

The white heart pillow is from the Target Bins. Animal Print pillows from Pier One on clearance and sooo soft! All the rest of these items were found at either Home Goods, Hobby Lobby or Michaels.

I do love how all these little love details turned out. And I just love looking at the mantle. I added a couple other little valentine touches here and there in the house and it definitely makes it sweeter.

I did do a couple posts about this time last year relating to the idea of love if you want to check them out.

  1. Love your Valentine's decor. I enjoy decorating for Valentine's, Easter, and then Summer, as well as Fall and Christmas. I have to admit last year I didn't feel as motivated to pull it all out, maybe because the kids are getting older. But this year I'm going to be back on my game! You've inspired me. ;) And I seriously need to go to Pier One. We have one right by the house, and I never go!

  54. I know what you mean about the house looking drab after the holidays. My holiday decor started in mid October with Halloween and it was non stop after that. It took a while to get back into "regular" home decor and if I don't hurry I will miss Valentine's Day. Thank you for the beautiful inspiration!
