I'M JOINING THE CIRCUS

My BIG (Top) Monday Revelation: I’m joining the CIRCUS! NO, I’m not, but I felt like a member of it when I tried on this Love & Fire jumpsuit. Of course, our son, who took these pictures and was home from Indiana University, asked me if I got it there, lol (kids often wear red and white striped overalls to IU basketball games).

We Bloggers usually show you outfits we like, ones we feel good in. Well, I am here to be real and tell you this is an outfit gone wrong and went back to sender!

You may not see where it went wrong so I’ll tell ya bout what you don’t see. For starters, I couldn’t get it all the way zipped up. Since it was juniors I sized one up and still too tight. Thus I am wearing to holy gut grail Spanx but you may notice I am still ferociously sucking it in for every.single.picture.

The little tie thingy in the front is cute but not only is it exposed skin between the girls and high belly but my nude bra can still be seen. Unless of course strategically placing said ties to cover it.

I am not a full professional fashion blogger, I like mixing it up with food, motivation, décor, fun finds, etc., but I do love fashion and clothes and all things pretty. However, I have no assistants, no team working for me, Yes, ladies…..no INSTA…yet! What I do have, is a family who takes my pictures, laugh at my mishaps, a fun closet to fill clothes I love in, a yearly garage sale to get rid of old ones and what I’d like to think is an eye for everyday fun fashion.

So, I won’t join the circus just yet! Truth be told, I’ve never even been to a Circus. However, when I was a little girl, my neighborhood friends and I would put on side yard circuses and even had real tickets to sell. So, I’ll keep being amateur, figuring out how to get outta jumpsuits and enjoying real life! I'm wearing another jumpsuit to dinner on Saturday. Now, If I could just remember where I put my Spanx????

Happy Week ahead, Love ya all!
P.S. After reading some of your comments, Thank you for being real that you didn't like this either and not sugar coating it, lol!

  2. Well it's a good thing you told us what went wrong with this beauty because it looks fabulous on you from where I sit! I despise Spanx and avoid wearing them at all costs, lol, it's too hot here and I think they're uncomfortable. Can you imagine having a team of people working with you and helping you out? I can't! I can barely keep my head above water and thank God my husband takes my pictures. Keepin' it real is what I love about blogging, real clothes on real women. You are beautiful fully zipped up or not my friend!!
    Love ya!

  3. Oh I'm glad you sent that thing back. I was waiting on Jay to be dressed up as the MC and the kids to come out with dancing bears. Just say no to anything circus! In other news...birthday celebrating should commence today...just saying'.

  6. You are cute as can be as always, but I'm glad this one is going back! It does have a lot of personality though <3 Have a lovely Monday! xoxo

  7. Okay, I love how real you are in this post!!! Yes, sometimes the clothes we put on are horrible, but I'm so proud you showed that side! I will say though, the stripes are flattering and you can't even tell you have on Spanx or are sucking in haha! Have a great Monday, Andrea!!

  11. Oh my gosh I laughed out loud when I read your title!! You are most definitely NOT circus ready in this jumpsuit. I think it's the cutest thing for summer! Bummer that it didn't fit well. But no worries! We can't even tell all of its flaws that you disliked! And funny story - I'm no professional blogger either. This weekend we shot a jumpsuit that I didn't even realize was on BACKWARDS until I went to edit the photos. Yay Me... :) Have a wonderful week gorgeous girlfriend!! XO

  12. Thanks for the honest post, lol! I don't like jumpsuits in general, I think you can pull it off though, too bad it didn't work out.

  13. Such a statement piece could make the wrong person look like they are joining the circus, but you lady can pull it off with flying colors. But if you don't like it, don't keep it!

  14. Thank you for being real and sharing "it all"! You look lovely in whatever you put on but I agree this one could be returned if you weren't feeling awesome in it. That's funny about the circus. We used to put on neighborhood carnivals. They were fun. I hope your week is off to a great start!

  15. OK, you may not like it & it may not have felt comfy - but honestly, I think its kinda cute!!!... but yeah, all I see now is a Hoosier game outfit ;) haha. But nothing wrong with that either!!! GO HOOSIERS!

  16. But we all have tries like this, and at least you know how to have fun with it, Andrea!!!
I bet if you had the right size, you'd be rocking this like no other. Because those stripes make you look so tall and lean!!

  17. I can't tell you are sucking in at all, Andrea!! I love how this jumpsuit looks on you but all in all, if you aren't comfy that's what matters!

  18. Loved this post of a fashion faux pas! AND I am so glad you decided not to join the circus! The "holy gut grail Spanx" totally cracked me up! Not one of my favorite outfits, but you still look beautiful, Blondie!!

  20. Well you are definitely still rocking that jumpsuit! I can see how you got the blog post title! It totally reminds me of a circus tent pattern.

  21. This is a beautiful jumpsuit! I am sucker for stripes and love the contrasting red and white. I am sorry it didn't work out.

  22. LOL I think the cut is super cute & if just the top what striped, or just the bottom, & the rest was solid it would be perfect. That coming from someone currently wearing athletic pants & a polo... so take it with a grain of salt haha.

  23. I would have never guessed that this outfit didn't fit you and you had some issues with it, because you look great in all your pictures! If you dont love it though, it has to go back! I am getting better about only holding on to things I really love and will actually wear. Happy Monday!

  24. Andrea, you have a a great figure and you could be wearing a potato sack and still look beautiful!!! That jumpsuit is cute but the exposed skin between the girls and the bra issue would make me return it. You and your son with the IU comment that cracked me up since you know that Chris went to school there. Go Hoosiers!! Haha. :-)

  25. I am so glad you shared this post, Andrea! I have found this brand runs ridiculously small too and I always end up disappointed when it arrives. I am sorry that it didn't work out for you, but I would have never known of all the mishaps. I think it looks great on you from these pictures! Too funny that your son asked if you got it at IU! Happy Monday!

  26. Oh my gosh!!! I got so excited when I saw this. I actually sent the link to this jumpsuit to Katie a couple of weeks ago and told her it would be darling on her. She wouldn't do it though. Well, I'm with Kellyann. If you hadn't told us what went wrong, I'd have never known. You could wear a burlap sack and look adorable. As far as I'm concerned, you're the hit of the big top! XOXO

  32. I also bought a jumpsuit last week, but it was green with a floral print and I was afraid it'd be overkill... so, I went with something else. But, I love that you still shared this with all of us, even though you sent it back! I still think it is really cute on you, but yeah if it has a big gap in the front area and it's still too small... you're not going to be very comfortable wearing it! Thanks for your honesty and I seriously loved the title you paired with this post! lol!

  40. LOL! What a fun post, Andrea! Although my first reaction was COOL, LOVE IT! But I totally understand when something isn't right. Perhaps you should look for something else red and white stripes because they look awesome on you!

  41. Maybe not a full jumpsuit in stripes - but a top in red/white stripes would be so cute on you. I know what you mean about being comfortable - and things going back when they are not right. I have become so much more aware of being comfortable lately.

  43. Haha your too funny! The circus would never look cuter if you joined. I thought more festive like 4th of July when I saw this. It's really cute on you! Sierra~Beautifully Candid

  46. The style and fit of the jumpsuit looks perfect but I agree too much stripes. I think you could totally pull this off if it came in a color with no patterns like navy blue or baby blue. Too funny your son asked if it came from a circus! Emily @ Martinis & Bikinis

  49. Girl!!! Those stripes make it incredibly flattering.....too funny to know it wasn't actually a good fit. I cannot tell you how many times I actually put on something that does fit and once I take my picture in it I'm like...ummm....no mam.

You should consign your clothes, they’re so cute. Besides it’s a lot less hassle and you’ll make a lot more $$!
