TBB ASKS...NEW YEAR, NEW YOU LINK-UP

Hi Friends!! SUPER DUPER Happy you're here for our first TBB ASKS of 2018!! We are going to have some fun with these prompts and themes this year I promise. Thank you for playing along with our shenanigans and I hope you have as much fun with them as we do! Let's get to it and think a new outlook for the year ahead!

1. Resolutions or No Resolutions? Nope. Yes, there are things I want to do better in the New Year, but just working on being a better person is enough, no going to beat myself up over resolutions.

2. Love snow or No Snow? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!
Just look a the beauty in our new back yard!

3. Name a New Place you want to go this year? My backyard, it's new and it's pretty and I need.to.float!!

4. Would you rather have a new Hair cut or Hair color? CUT! I color my own and will never let a hair stylist touch it again after the gray fiasco of 09'! But a new cut and style may be nice.

5. Name one special thing you want to do for yourself this year? It's a secret but I'll tell ya...sooner than later I hope!

6. Least Favorite thing about January? De-Christmasing & Depression from the Holiday's being over and boys returning to college.

7. Most Favorite thing about January? Snowshoeing!! and our son's and doggies birthdays!

8. When do you take down your Holiday decorations? This past weekend. Boo. :-( But secret..the tree is still up for one more week because well 2 reasons: I love it and I was too tired to take it down.

9. Do you diet in January? Just cut back from all those sweets I indulged in.

10. What area of your home do you want to organize the most?
The storage area in basement. Doing pretty good but with the move, needs more organization and labeling.

11. Favorite Winter Comfort Food? SOUPS like my Beef Vegetable & White Chicken Chili and if you ask Drink? Bailey's and Hot Cocoa! (Saturday night I had this along with kettle corn for my supper while we watched Tom Cruise in American Made!)

12. Favorite Guilty Pleasure? I talked about my favorite Summer Guilty Pleasure's HERE. This winter definitely Netflix and Mr. Nine got me a new TV for my office/craft room and LOOK, it has a Netflix button right on it...I had no idea!!!

HAVE AN AWESOME DAY and Come Back tomorrow for a party recipe sure to please!!

  1. What a fun list! I totally forgot to add this to my post today. The past few weeks have been a blur! I will have to make a note for February's TBB Asks. I was just thinking the other day I wanted to make white chicken chili for dinner. It has been so cold and it sounds so good! And yes to all the snow! It has been so cold here but we didn't get much snow, so I feel like the cold weather is wasted! Happy Monday, Andrea!

  7. The headshot of you is super gorgeous my friend!!! Loved reading your answers. I think I have an idea of what you're going to do for yourself this year! I loved the shot of your new tv remote, we have the same one and I love those special buttons - so easy to access Netflix and all the other goodies!
    Happy Monday beautiful!

  8. Oh boy! Your remote has a netflix button AND an Amazon button?! That's almost too easy! ;-) I love that picture of you. What a friendly face to see this morning! I am always sad to take the Christmas decorations down too. I love lighting the living room with Christmas lights during the season. I suppose we'll just have to start thinking about the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day to keep us excited! Have a wonderful week! xoxo

  9. My least liked thing about January is the short days. Roll on longer lighter hours! xx

  10. A remote with its own Netflix button! That's awesome. lol I really like the snow too. It's been so so cold where I live, but not tons of snow. Sigh. If it's going to be cold, I want it to at least be pretty, you know? :)

Sad when all the decorations are put away, the house looks so empty..but the love is still there!! I'm cutting back on all those sweets too, isn't it the worst?! 23. I don't really do resolutions either! I like to give the New Year my best go through and through - but I do that all the time. Also, I'm with you on winter soups. I'm ALL about a good, warm chili in the crockpot!

    Happy Monday, beautiful friend!

  24. Ugh. Those post Christmas blues! My boys "suffer" in lip quivering silence while we are taking down the Christmas lights in their rooms. I will desperately miss this stage someday! I love the snow in your back yard! Gorgeous. And how could I not think of Netflix being my January guilty pleasure!! OF course it is. Give me a fire, a mug of something hot to drink, candles and good shows/movies. Or a good fiction. I can't wait to hear about your secret. Must you keep me in suspense!!! Well my friend, I hope you are rested, remember that your beautiful and tackle that tree!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm sure your backyard is going to be amazing just as the rest of your house is. I haven't taken down my tree yet. I always wait til after Little Christmas which is Jan. 6th. I'm planning on doing it this week, a little bit at a time. haha it's so much work.

  26. This is a fun post! I love all your answers and agree with a lot of them. I love the snow for a while but we get sooo much! I'm a big soup lover and making them is so fun for me. I color my own hair and have since I was 21 except for last year for a while but prefer to do it myself! Happy new year!
    Peace!

  27. This post was so fun to read! I am with you on #6 even though we did not put up a tree. The snow is pretty but here in the city it gets yucky after like a day haha. Your chili and soup look delicious too!! Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day!!! :-)

  28. It is so depressing after the holidays.
I need those snow shoes to get from my work parking garage to the office. Haha

  29. First, thanks for hosting this, Andrea - it was fun!

Re: gray hair incident: more please, because I’m guessing this is a great story!

  30. I feel exactly the same way about resolutions, and how sad it is to de-Christmas the house in January. And yay for the new backyard, and yessss to floating <3

  31. My beautiful friend, there is no way you had gray hair in '09! REALLY?? I have to admit that yours and Stephanie's hair color are really, really hard to come by. She use to do hers herself, too, but it was so damaged and I talked her into going to the salon, but she's not 100% happy, either. You had me at #1 of course! Cheers to NO RESOLUTIONS!! AND the fact that your Christmas tree is still up, too! Cheers to the big game tonight, too!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ugh, De-Christmasing is the worst! I did that last weekend and it was so sad. And I'm back to work today, so the depression is even worse! Haha!
Loving the beautiful snow! Wish we got some snow like that down here in Texas, but heck, drivers around here are bad, I don't even want to think about how much worse they would be if it snowed like that.

  33. I can't wait to see what you do for yourself! Your back yard looks so nice in the winter and i bet it is even better in the summer! here is to a 2018 that is just as fabulous as you are!

    ReplyDelete
  34. De-Christmasing, I still haven't done it, haha! I was going to do it this weekend, then hurt myself which made my hands pretty much useless, which you sort of need to take down decorations. So this weekend it is, haha! I can't wait to hear what you're working on!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Your backyard looks magical right now!!! Cant wait to hear what you want to work on this year for yourself :) Taking down the holiday decor is so daunting!!! I like to put it off but it also stresses me out knowing I have to do it. Haha. The Netflix button would be the most worn out one on my remote if I had one! Happy Monday!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well now I'm just dying to find out the answer to number 5!!! I loved reading all of your answers. We are the same spirit animal...no resolutions, no diets but cutting back and getting things more organized. Happy Monday beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  37. My hubby and I bought each other snowshoes for Christmas - hoping to get out next weekend. I'm definitely making your crock pot chili this week. Can't wait to see what you're up to this year!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh Andrea, how I envy all that snow in your back garden. And the Netflix too. I could manage that delish soup over here, though. And that's it. Boo hoo!
    Hugs, x.

  39. I love eating soups in the winter months too! It's so comforting and yummy! And I can completely relate with the coloring your hair thing- I still haven't found a new hairstylist since moving- I get so nervous with letting strangers do my hair lol

    ReplyDelete
  40. No resolutions. I think a year is too long to concentrate on one or two things for the entire year. Situations change. I do want to me more thankful and letting people know I'm thankful. Also, I want to use what in my home and not buy more. I could literally make about 300 cupcakes right now without buying liners! Also I'm a quilter so I need to focus on using my fabric instead of buying more. At 56, I decided to go natural this summer. My hair is short so the transition wasn't too bad. Turns out I'm a gunmetal gray person, who knew? So new cut for me. I like January - the pressure of the holiday season is over! It's fun but there's a lot to do as a wife, mother, employee, daughter, etc.

  41. Such a fun post! We love any kind of chili this time of year! Also how cool that you color your own hair. You do an INCREDIBLE job!!

  43. Oh yes, bring on the hot cocoa with Baileys! That is the best. I've never been snoeshoeing but it looks so cool--I'm not sure I could hack it in the cold though, ha! :)

  44. Our TV/remote has a netflix and a hulu button and I just love it! All the other TVs are actually quite complicated to turn on any of our streaming channels.

    ReplyDelete
  45. That chili looks really good! I love soups and stews when it's cold outside :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I totally agree with you about the soups and chilis being my favorites for the winter season! And I bet that you're going to love your backyard once it gets thawed out from this winter! I hope that you had a great weekend, despite having to put up Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  47. What a fun link up! I have had such a good time reading everyone's responses. We're having a new soup for dinner tonight. Bonus, hubby is cooking!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I bet you love snow almost as much as I do. But I never get to play in it. Love the idea of snowshoes. And snowmobiling. And horse-driven carriages in the snow!!

I really went bonkers eating sweet this Christmas. Did not deny myself a single calorie. Oy vey! Now to get back to eating like a normal person. Ha!

Love these Q&A posts. Great fun and easy to do. Thanks for the link-up. Happy new year.

  58. You are going to enjoy your new backyard so much this summer. Especially with the new pool! We had a pool when my kids were growing up and they lived in it. Good thing you enjoy snow! It is going to get close to 60 in a few days and then back down to the freezing temps. Netflix have definitely changed the way we watch television. No commercials...yay!
Hmmm, guess we will all wait for you to reveal your secret. No hints? xoxo
